Touted as once having the only Children Universal Health Insurance care in the country, Hawaii has put an end to it at the beginning of November, citing budget shortfalls as the reason. Catch the full Story Here

This does not mean that needy children cannot get covered. It is still fairly easy for economically challenged families to still get coverage for their kids without really being “poor”. The standards for getting Medquest coverage for a child is not that low, and almost any family experiencing unemployment or temporary unemployment should be able to get coverage or temporary coverage through Hawaii’s Med Quest Division.

HHI4U BOSS Summary: June 29th, 2008: Basically Hawai’i Health Systems Corp.which runs a bunch of state hospitals told law makers that there would be service cuts and layoffs because of their financial woes. So lawmakers and Linda Lingle came to the rescue and agreed to 14 MILLLION DOLLARS in emergency spending to help the company make it thru the fiscal year. Sounds like lingle was trying to make ammends for where she fell short with Aloha Airlines. Anyway, some officials blame Health Insurance like HMSA and Medicare for not raising the amount of reinburstments the network gets back from them.
